From pastor to hospice administrator, Gary Merchant's unusual journey is the source of his incredible value to Alamo Hospice. In the past, Gary has helped grow hospices into multi-million dollar assets, and as COO he helps to lead Alamo through rapid and responsible growth.

Dale Hicks

A long and successful career as an attorney eventually led Dale to start Alamo Hospice in 2006. His past experience as head of the Medical Malpractice division at a highly specialized and successful law firm makes him uniquely suited to handle medical, ethical and legal issues.

Erin Adkins

Erin has over twenty years of experience in jobs related to risk management, utilization review, case management quality improvement and medical management. Her former position as a legal nurse consultant helps her navigate both the practical and technical sides of directing the clinical staff at Alamo Hospice.

Helen Achilles

Having worked from one spectrum of nursing to the other, Helen represents the eyes and ears of Alamo Hospice. From her work out in the field directly administering healthcare, to the oversight she provides coordinating the plan of care for patients, she typifies the Alamo Hospice administration in many ways: a dedicated leader, an interdisciplinary philosophy and an ability to work effectively in a number of roles.
